The Seattle Seahawks sign DE James Wyche

The Seahawks have signed 28-year old DE James Wyche.  Wyche played in 3 games for the Jaguars & Rams last season and he made 1 tackle.  I expect Wyche will have a hard time making the Seahawks opening day roster.  He was just cut last weekend by the Texans who aren’t exactly a stellar defense.

The Seattle Seahawks sign Brandon Jones

The Seahawks have signed 27-year old WR Brandon Jones.  Jones played in 8 games (0 starts) for the Niners last season and he caught 1 pass for 18 yards.  Jones has now played in 59 games (27 starts) in his five years in the NFL and he has caught 113 passes for 1,398 yards (12.4 avg) with 9 TD grabs.  He has also carried the ball 6 times for 76 yards (12.7 ypc) in his career to date.  Jones could be a decent #4 or #5 WR for the Seahawks in 2010 so I like this signing for them.

The Seattle Seahawks sign DT Amon Gordon

The Seahawks have signed 28-year old DT Amon Gordon.  Gordon last played in the NFL in 2008 with the Titans.  He has played in 13 games (4 starts) in his NFL career and he has 29 tackles and 1 forced fumble.  It never hurts to add a guy like Gordon and give him a chance to get his career revived.

The Seattle Seahawks sign Adrian Peterson

The Seahawks have signed 31-year old running back Adrian Peterson.  Peterson played in 14 games (0 starts) for the Bears last season and he carried the ball 7 times for 51 yards (7.3 ypc).  He also caught 2 passes for 11 yards (5.5 avg) last season.  Peterson has now played in 106 games (6 starts) in his 8 years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 311 times for 1,283 yards (4.1 ypc) with 8 TD runs.  He has also caught 78 passes for 665 yards (8.5 avg) in his NFL career.  This was a good signing for the Seahawks as Peterson has been a decent backup running back in his career.

UPDATE:  (8/17/2010) - The Seahawks have released Peterson.  Wow, that was quick.

The Seattle Seahawks sign Quinn Pitcock

The Seahawks have signed 26-year old DT Quinn Pitcock.  He last played in the NFL in 2007 with the Colts which was his rookie year.  Pitcock has played in 9 games (1 start) in his NFL career and he has 18 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 tackle for a loss.  Pitcock actually is coming out of retirement so the Seahawks will need to make sure that he stays motivated and focused.
