The Seahawks have released 28-year old RB T.J. Duckett.  Duckett played in all 16 games (0 starts) for the Seahawks last season and he carried the ball 62 times for 172 yards (2.8 ypc) with 8 TDs.  He also played in the first two pre-season games for the Seahawks this year carrying the ball 12 times for 35 yards (2.9 ypc).  Someone had to go when the Seahawks signed Edgerrin James and it turned out to be Duckett.  Look for Duckett to latch on with a different team at some point this season.

The Seattle Seahawks lose starting center Chris Spencer

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Seahawks Headlines, Injury Reports, General Hawks Squawk by admin on Saturday 29 August 2009 at 10:36 am

The Seahawks have lost 27-year old starting center Chris Spencer for the next 4-6 weeks due to a torn quadriceps.  He played in 11 games (all starts) for the Seahawks last season.  He has now played in 50 games (40 starts) in his 4 seasons with Seattle.  Second year man Steve Vallos will battle rookie 2nd round pick out of Oregon Max Unger for the right to start at center when the real bullets fly.  Vallos played in 16 games (5 starts) as a rookie last season for the Seahawks so he would appear to have the upper hand.  Losing Spencer on top on OT Walter Jones will spell deep trouble along the O-Line for the Seahawks this season.
