Seattle Seahawks 33, St. Louis Rams 6
The Seahawks defense and special teams were the reason for the easy victory over the Rams. Nate Burleson had an outstanding game for the Seahawks as he caught a 12-yard pass, returned 6 punts for 59 yards (9.8 avg) and he also returned 2 kickoffs for 117 yards (58.5 avg) including a 91 yarder for a TD. DE Darryl Tapp had a monster game for the Seahawks as he made 5 tackles and had 4 sacks. LB Julian Peterson also had a good game with 4 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception. The Rams finished up with 53 yards rushing on 17 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 40 passes for 168 yards.
Matt Hasselbeck was efficient with the ball as he completed 18 of 35 passes for 195 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception. Shaun Alexander had a hard time finding running room as he carried the ball 19 times for 47 yards (2.5 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 18 yards. Maurice Morris did a little better as he carried the ball 10 times for 42 yards (4.2 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 18 yards. Leonard Weaver continues to see his role expand for the Seahawks as he carried the ball 3 times for 11 yards (3.7 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 37 yards (12.3 avg). Bobby Engram led all receivers for the Seahawks as he caught 6 passes for 73 yards (12.2 avg). TE Will Heller also had a big game as he caught 3 passes for 18 yards (6.0 avg) with 2 TDs. The Seahawks finished up with 100 yards rushing on 32 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 35 passes for 189 yards.
