Pittsburgh Steelers 21, Seattle Seahawks 0
The Seahawks looked completely pathetic against the Steelers yesterday. The final score was 21-0 but it was a much worse beating than the scoreboard showed as the Steelers punched them in the mouth all day long. Matt Hasselbeck was awful as he completed 13 of 27 passes for 116 yards with 0 TDs and 1 INT. Seneca Wallace finished up the game and he completed 1 of 3 passes for 6 yards and he also had 1 carry for 11 yards. Shaun Alexander had a rough game too as he carried the ball 11 times for 25 yards (2.3 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 7 yards (2.3 avg). The Seahawks only had possession of the football for 19:15 of the game. The Seahawks finished up with 38 yards rushing on 13 carries (2.9 ypc) and they completed 14 of 30 passes for 106 yards.
The Seahawks defense just couldn’t get off of the field as the Steelers had some long, time consuming drives in this game. Linebacker Julian Peterson (10 tackles, sack) and safety Deon Grant (8 tackles) both did their jobs so you can’t blame them for the result. The Steelers rushed for 163 yards on 41 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 22 passes for 179 yards.
