Darrell Jackson could miss the remainder of season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Hawks Squawk,Injury Reports by ravenhater on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 3:58 pm

It’s possible that the Seahawks will be without Darrell Jackson for the remainder of the regular season with an injured toe.  He is definately out for Thursday’s game and will be replaced in the starting line-up by Nate Burleson (15 rec, 175 yards and 2 TDs) who’s been a huge disappointment so far this season.

Jackson was having an outstanding season as he had 63 catches for 956 yards (15.2 avg) and 10 TDs.  Hopefully the rest of the receivers (Deion Branch, DJ Hackett and Nate Burleson) step up because it’s important for the Seahawks to play some home games in the playoffs.

Seahawks stunned by Cardinals 27-21

The Seahawks played well on offense, but the defense continued with their sub-par play this season.  Matt Hasselbeck completed 20 of 28 passes for 243 yards with 3 TDs.  He also carried the ball 3 times for 32 yards (10.7 ypc).  Shaun Alexander had an o.k. game with 22 carries for 76 yards (3.5 ypc).  DJ Hackett led the way for the receiving corps with 4 catches for 104 yards and a TD.  Darrell Jackson had a decent game with 5 catches for 60 yards and a TD.  Deion Branch added 3 catches for 54 yards.  Mack Strong pitched in with 3 catches for 12 yards.

The defense didn’t play well for the Seahawks on Sunday.  The Cardinals ran the ball 33 times for 113 yards (3.4 ypc).  The Cardinals also completed 21 of 34 passes for 232 net yards passing.

The Seahawks fell to 8-5 on the season and they need to improve their defense or they won’t go far in the playoffs.

Seahawks 1st round pick playing decent

The Seahawks drafted CB Kelly Jennings with an eye on the future.  They have brought him along as a nickel back to get experience and then start down the road.  Jennings has played 12 games and has 29 tackles, an interception and defensed 3 passes.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Seahawks have won two in a row since the returns of Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander.  The Cardinals have won 2 of their last 3 games.

Look for the Seahawks to continue riding on the back of Shaun Alexander.  The Cards have a hard time stopping the run as they allow 121.1 yards rushing and 4.2 yards per carry so far this season.  Look for Hasselbeck to also attack the Cardinals downfield with Darrell Jackson and Deion Branch.  Hasselbeck must be careful because Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson is an impact player that makes game-altering plays.

The Cardinals should run Edgerrin James (810 yards rushing) alot in this football game.  The Seahawks are vulnerable to a running game as they allow 117.5 yards rushing per game and 4.5 yards per carry.  Anquan Boldin (66 rec, 920 yards) and Larry Fitzgerald should cause big problems for the Seahawks if the O-Line gives Matt Leinart time to throw the ball.  The Seahawks have 39 sacks already this season.

Look for the Seahawks to pull this game out due to another huge game by Shaun Alexander.

Reserve running back to miss remainder of season

Josh Scobey will miss the rest of the season with an injured shoulder.  Scobey did not play any offense, but he did contribute on special teams.  Scobey returned 17 kick-offs for 315 yards (18.5 avg), which is a little below average.  Scobey also had 12 tackles on special teams.

Seahawks beat Broncos 23-20 on last second FG

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by ravenhater on Monday 4 December 2006 at 2:07 am

Josh Brown hit a 50 yard FG with 3 seconds left to help the Seahawks prevail in Denver.  Matt Hasselbeck completed 16 of 28 passes for 168 yards and 1 INT.  Shaun Alexander continued to play well after his return from injury with 26 carries for 90 yards (3.5 ypc) and a TD.  Darrell Jackson caught 6 passes for 91 yards.

The defense gave a good effort against the Broncos passing game, but they couldn’t stop the Broncos running game.  The Broncos carried the football 34 times for 181 yards (5.3 ypc). The Broncos only completed 10 of 21 passes for 121 net yards passing.  DE Darryl Tapp intercepted a pass from Jay Cutler and returned it 25 yards for a TD.

This was a huge win for the Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos

The Seahawks have played well lately winning 3 of their last 4 games.  The Broncos are starting to show cracks on their team as they’ve lost two straight.

The Seahawks are gonna feed the ball to Shaun Alexander who exploded in his first game back from injury with 201 rushing yards.  The Broncos have been soft the last two games against the run, so Alexander will get his yards.  Matt Hasselbeck will have to be careful against the Broncos secondary which has picked-off a few passes this season.

The Broncos are going to attack the Seahawks defense with Bell & Bell.  The Seahawks are a little soft against the run as they allow 111.7 yards rushing per game and 4.4 yards per carry this season.  The Broncos must limit their throwing with Jay Cutler making his first start.  The Seahawks do allow 216.9 net yards passing per game, so Javon Walker (51 rec, 854 yards) should get his yards.

The Seahawks look in better shape to win this football game.  Look for Jay Cutler to make a big mistake that will lead to the loss.
